GE HealthCare will install a PETtrace 890 cyclotron at the University of Oklahoma (UO) in Norman.
The cyclotron will help expand access to molecular imaging and personalized therapies for patients across Oklahoma and the surrounding region, GE HealthCare said. It will enable onsite production of radiotracers -- the radioactive compounds used in PET imaging and theranostic applications -- for diagnosis and treatment of diseases including cancer, heart disease, and Alzheimer’s.
Cyclomedical International will provide project consulting and production operations management at the cyclotron facility, the company noted.
