The Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) seeks feedback from the sonography community for its Model Job Descriptions for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers initiative.
The SDMS said the project is necessary so that job descriptions -- of staff sonographer, advanced sonographer, lead sonographer, and sonography manager -- reflect their evolving roles, responsibilities, and expectations.
The updated descriptions will align with the society's "Scope of Practice and Clinical Standards for the Diagnostic Medical Sonographer" guide to ensure the information remains relevant, accurate, and practical for use by employers, educators, and industry professionals, according to the SDMS.
Interested community members can participate by reviewing current model job descriptions and submitting feedback. The deadline is July 18.
