GE HealthCare to debut updates to iRT at ASTRO 2025

GE HealthCare (GEHC) plans to debut updates to Intelligent Radiation Therapy (iRT), a new version of the company’s software for radiation therapy workflow management at the upcoming American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) meeting.

The iRT software is AI-supported by GE HealthCare and third-party applications. The company will also unveil a new capability for theranostics that manages workflows throughout the patient treatment journey. The company highlighted that early adopters of the software are reporting shorter treatment times in radiation therapy workflows by integrating iRT and RayStation by RaySearch Laboratories.

The iRT software features analytics reporting, a staff scheduler, MR Contour DL for organ auto-segmentation, and Vertual's VERT virtual reality app. The company added that the software integrates with the systems that radiation oncology departments use most, with a vendor-neutral approach.

For theranostics, the iRT software integrates with electronic medical records (EMRs) and oncology information systems to guide clinicians through patient intake, patient assessment, scheduling, medication dosing, dosimetry, and clinical reviews.
