C4 touts MRI-guided prostate brachytherapy study

Image-guided technology developer C4 Imaging said that a recent research study from MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston showed positive results from using the company's Sirius MRI marker in MRI-guided prostate brachytherapy.

The MD Anderson team concluded that MRI-guided prostate brachytherapy can produce high-quality implants of radioactive seeds and spare more critical prostate anatomy from radiation than ultrasound-based treatment planning can, according to C4 Imaging. Dr. Pierre Blanchard, PhD, presented the findings in June at the World Congress of Brachytherapy in San Francisco.
