Intermountain to acquire Steinberg Diagnostic Medical Imaging

Intermountain Health has signed an agreement to acquire southern Nevada outpatient imaging provider Steinberg Diagnostic Medical Imaging (SDMI).

Steinberg operates 12 outpatient radiology locations in Las Vegas Valley, NV. The acquisition will expand Intermountain's reach into southern Nevada, where the Utah-based healthcare system plans to break ground on a 200-bed pediatric healthcare facility.

Intermountain already offers care at more than 80 clinics at over 65 locations across southern Nevada in primary care, urgent care, and multiple specialties, including oncology, cardiology, endocrinology, pulmonology, physical medicine, and women’s and children’s health, the organization noted.

With the acquisition, the transition of care will take place after January 1, 2026, and will be introduced in phases, Intermountain said.

SDMI maintains a team of more than 550 affiliated or employed radiologists, technologists, and staff. The diagnostic radiology provider is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), accredited in stereotactic breast biopsy by the American College of Radiology (ACR), and designated a "Lung Cancer Screening Center" by the ACR, according to Intermountain.
