Andrew Trout tapped to lead radiology at Cincinnati Children's

Andrew Trout, MDAndrew Trout, MDCincinnati Children'sCincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center has appointed Andrew Trout, MD, radiologist in chief, effective October 20, 2025.

Trout served as director of nuclear medicine at Cincinnati Children’s from 2016 through 2024 and led the department through modernizing clinical protocols, selecting equipment, and managing operations.

Cincinnati Children's also highlighted Trout's accomplishments, establishing operational processes for research across the department, leading early-phase clinical trials in nuclear medicine, and garnering federal funding for research.

Trout’s research interests include quantitative abdominal imaging, pancreatitis, nuclear medicine, and radionuclide therapy. He is also working to develop and validate quantitative, noninvasive imaging biomarkers to reduce the need for invasive testing, according to Cincinnati Children's.

In his new role, Trout will lead the department of radiology and serve as a member of the health system’s in-chiefs leadership group.
