VB Spine has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire exclusive rights to Augmedics' CT-to-fluoroscopy (CT-Fluoro) technology for spine applications.
This builds on the company's April acquisition of exclusive rights to Augmedics' xvision Spine System augmented reality navigation platform.
CT-Fluoro technology enables surgeons to register a patient's preoperative CT scan using standard fluoroscopic imaging, potentially eliminating the need for intraoperative CT or 3D imaging systems during spine procedures, according to VB Spine. The company said the technology is intended to expand the accessibility of augmented reality navigation across a broader range of facilities and surgical settings.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. VB Spine said it intends to make CT-Fluoro technology available as part of its spine procedure offerings following closing, subject to customary closing conditions.
